One of the elements of E L James’ Fifty Shades series (the Mommy porn that’s sweeping the country) that makes protagonist Christian Grey so appealing is the lavish lifestyle he leads. Expensive wines, private jets, homes in every corner of the globe, all lend to his allure. Not sure I’d put up with as much as Ana does, but fine food and sumptuous spirits have seduced me on more than one occasion.
Inspired by the novel, Supper Restaurant and Coeur boutique are joining forces for a Fifty Shades dinner and pop-up shop on Wednesday, June 27. Challenged by his wife & co-owner, Jennifer Presnky, Supper’s Executive Chef Mitch Prensky, has recreated the dinner menu from Masked Ball that appears in the second installment of the trilogy. The four course menu, taken directly from the book, includes salmon tartare, roasted duck breast with foie gras, candied figs and artisan cheeses. Dinner is priced at $65 a person, with an optional $100 supplement for the exact wine pairings featured in the book.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Fifty Shades without a little something spicy. Philly’s own high-end lingerie and toy boutique, Coeur, will be on hand with a one-night-only pop-up shop featuring a selection of items mentioned in the series.
